A dedicated automation business with two decades in New Zealand industry.
ACED was founded to do one thing exceptionally well — industrial automation and control engineering for the New Zealand market.
The business started in the early 2000s out of Nelson, with industrial electrical and instrumentation work across the top of the South Island. As we grew, opportunities pulled us further afield — design and build projects from Whangarei to Dunedin, and a handful of international jobs from Fiji to the US.
With that growing experience came a realisation: to guarantee the quality of an automation project, we needed to control every component of it — from control philosophy and design, through panel build and PLC programming, right through to commissioning and long-term support. So we built the team to do exactly that.
Today ACED NZ is an independent automation and controls specialist with a tight, experienced team and a long client list across food and beverage, wineries, timber processing, refrigeration, water and OEM machinery.
PLC, drive and process control — the live, running brain of the plant.
SCADA, HMI, alarm philosophy and the operator workflow on top of it.
Documented, standards-aligned engineering — code, panels, networks, safety.
Control philosophy and system design first — code only after the spec is agreed.
Every project starts with a written control philosophy. No code gets written until everyone agrees on what the system is meant to do.
Structured, commented, version-controlled. Your next engineer — internal or external — should be able to pick it up without a fight.
Panels and code get tested in our workshop, against simulated I/O, before they ever roll out to your plant. Surprises stay in the workshop.
We’re not a here-today integrator. ACED projects come with documentation, training and a support agreement option — for the life of the asset.
Our automation engineers are TÜV-certified for machine safety — covering risk assessment, safety circuit design and validation to AS/NZS 4024.
Health & safety pre-qualified through Sitewise, Prequal and ISN — the standard for working on major NZ industrial sites.
Recognised integration partners across Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Ignition and AVEVA platforms — old and new.
